UNISON’s
international activities form an integral part of the union’s agenda. By defending union rights across the
world we are defending union rights in Britain. By promoting the case for decent
publicly provided services in the developing world we are reinforcing the case
for public services in this country.
And by standing up for economic and social justice overseas we strengthen
the case for fairness at home. The
struggles of our sisters and brothers around the globe are inextricably linked
to our own. We will not win our
battles in Britain if they are undermined
elsewhere. We must therefore stand
in solidarity with our partner unions and work with then on their
campaigns. The international work
of the union is dedicated, therefore to building and strengthening those
partnerships and to working with our sister unions to achieve our common
goals.
