About Us:

The Regional Black Members Group meet at least 4 times a year to plan a programme of work to encourage Black Members to become active in UNISON as well as encourage networking between members in the whole of the South West Region.  Black Members are represented from all corners of the Region and several members of the Group attend national and regional meetings where they are able to put forward the views of the Group and the Black Members in the Region.

The Regional Group encourages branches to support their black members and to recognise their needs.

Black Mental Health UK Campaign
Human rights campaigns group, Black Mental Health UK (BMH UK) together with Black Newspaper, The Voice are campaigning to raise awareness about planned changes to mental health law which they fear are likely to have a devastating impact on African Caribbean communities living in the UK.
