Education & training
UNISON South West offers a wide range of training and development courses which are open to all activists and members. The courses are friendly and informal. Training involves practical activities and working with groups of other UNISON activists and members. Skills development and confidence building are important elements of most UNISON courses. You will meet other activists and members from other branches and service groups and will be surprised at what you learn on a UNISON course!

Branch Officers Residential Training at Croyde Bay
from 6pm 24 May until Sunday 27 May 2012
The UNISON Rule Book requires that each Branch shall elect, annually, core Branch Officers. This year we will be running sessions for the following Branch Officer roles:
Each Branch Officer post may be shared between two or more members, subject to the approval of the Branch. Branches are required to give serious consideration to making use of this facility as an effective means of sharing the workload and involving more members in the work of the Branch
At this training weekend we meet together as a whole group on Thursday evening. You will then go into your specific branch officer training group until Sunday morning, when we get together again.
Who is it for?
all newly elected or re-elected Branch Officers, or members interested in taking up one of these roles.
The course will help you understand:
-
The structure of UNISON, its aims and objectives and how it operates
-
The key duties and role of your specific post
If you would like to attend this course please complete an application form and forward to your branch for authorisation. If you would like to speak to someone regarding this course please contact Kay Mackenzie, Regional Education Officer.
Please note - there is a charge to Branches for this course.
