Champions and Contacts
Throughout UNISON our activists are our lifeblood, bringing members together and supporting the in difficult times, providing representation and engaging in negotiations, simply being a listening ear, leading campaigns, and providing specialist knowledge and expertise.
To ensure our Protect our Pensions campaign is as successful as possible we are recruiting two new groups of activists. Our Pensions' Champions and our Pensions' Contacts may be existing stewards, representatives and branch officers, or they may be members who haven't had a specific role before.
So does this campaign interest you? Can you help us and your colleagues by playing an active role, supporting UNISON members in your workplace, and helping to recruit new members into the UNION?
Pensions Champions are leaders in the branch around pensions - leading communication in the branch around pensions, organising activities, presentations and events, and generally ensuring the campaign is as effective as possible.
Pensions Contacts are local activists, hopefully in every workplace - so on each ward in a hospital, in every care home and school, in each department in your council, part of each team out supporting the community etc - handing out information, sharing updates, and asking non-members if they'd like to join UNISON and get involved.
So can you help us drive this campaign home? Can you be a Champion or a Contact?
